Kissing my boys before we part ways for the day (all three of them.)
Stopping in a parking lot by the lake on the way to work to watch the gulls, just for five minutes, and to breathe.
Having lunch with good friends often.
Calling the people I love on my commute home from work.
Counting the days until I finish (22).
What are the things you do, in the eye of the storm, in the midst of momentum, when urgency dictates only the slightest room in your day to linger or pause?

I water my garden. With my girl dancing through the water or in the rare quiet with only the birds and squirrels for company – either is beautiful and centering.
panic and freeze? haha.
i remember having a chat with a friend a while back and i was in a rage about something. not rage. more… intense disquiet. and i started spilling my guts and the more i spilled, the more anxious i got. so he gave me a juice pack and said: “why don’t you give yourself a break. take 5, drink that juice, and allow yourself to think of NOTHING and then, if you still feel like ranting we can pick up where we left off” i did not. it was magnificent.

Well, I always begin by procrastinating. Then when the panic sets in…I just power through as long as it takes. Right now I am in step one. By this weekend I will be in step two. My stomach is tight just thinking about it.
Mini dance party with a little boy, or two, in the kitchen. Sweet moves. You’re in the home stretch, lady. Woot! Woot!
