a movable feast is one one my favorite books ever. great quote.
Have never read much Hemingway. Would like to, especially the stuff he wrote in/about Spain.
Willow I’m really enjoying the new version of A Movable Feast–that is the reworked/reclaimed version–edited by his grandson Sean. It’s wonderful. I so enjoy Hemmingway’s frank, truthful, declarative sentences. They force me to bring a certain kind of attention to the sentences that I write: weighing out is essential and true–and what is there just for effect.
