“A work in progress quickly becomes feral. It reverts to a wild state overnight. It is barely domesticated, a mustang on which you one day fastened a halter, but which now you cannot catch. It is a lion you cage in your study. As the work grows, it gets harder to control; it is a lion growing in strength. You must visit it every day and reassert your mastery over it. If you skip a day, you are, quite rightly, afraid to open the door to its room. You enter its room with bravura, holding a chair at the thing and shouting, “Simba!”’

I love your pictures of the clouds and the sky. It seems uninteresting at first, but you really capture the simple beauty that it conveys.
I’m pretty sure you’ll get that lion to roll right over and let you rub its tummy. Annie Dillard is my hero. And oh wait…so are you.
Oh my…the sky!!! Gorgeous photos. I love looking at the sky. It’s the one thing I have to do everyday….especially sunrises and sunsets. Thank you for sharing.
Love this quotation and always have … and your sky photos are breathtaking.
Thank you, as always, for the inspiration and connection I feel here. xox
